Time remaining until the big moment

Oh how exciting that you are going to be joining us on our journey! You probably have some questions, but at least the most important one is answered already, and that is: yes, you are joining us.

Down below we have some information that you might find helpful in regards to your travel arrangements.

*Please let us know before you make any final bookings

  • There are direct flights multiple times per week from Amsterdam to Cairo.
  • There are also flights from other airports, such as Brussels, Dusseldorf, etc. And there are many other options, much more options for indirect flights via Frankfurt or Munchen.
  • For direct flights, the duration is 4.5 hours flying time. The price goes between 400 euros up to 550 euros (retour).
  • For indirect flights, the lay-over time could be only one hour, making the whole journey time between 6-7 hours. You can get it as cheap as 200 euros per flight (retour).
  • A reasonable ticket price is somewhere between the 200 and 300 euros for indirect flights, which we recommend.
  • You do not have to prepare beforehand for any visa. You can buy that at entrance in Cairo Airport (on arrival). You only have to make sure that you have cash (25 euros per person).
  • You do not need extra vaccins for visiting Egypt.
  • You are free to book any accomodation you want and you find comfortable in Cairo. Just keep into consideration: the distance to the wedding location and the ease of meeting frequently with the whole group.
  • If you need recommendations for accomodations, here we have prepared a list of hotels that have good quality and they are close to our locations of movement.
  • We also have an option for hospitality rooms that belongs to the church in Cairo (private room with private bathrooms) that can cost a fraction of a hotel or airbnb price. Yet, with a very decent quality. Given that we are not going to stay a lot in the hotels and we are there to move and experience in Cairo, that is where our recommendation goes to. (unfortunately, that location doesn’t have a proper website with pictures. We will try to get some pictures and if you want you can put your name with us and ramy will arrange the booking for you.
  • We have Uber and multiple different taxi providers that you can use easily and for a very cheap price.
  • we also have the possibility to rent a private bus for the whole group if that is something the group prefers. that could be arranged on a later moment. please let us know your preference.
  • Cash is the common method of payment.
  • You can easily pin money from any pin machine in Egypt. But you will pay some transaction costs for every transaction.
  • So we advise you to do one of the following:
  •          try to pin out as much as you can in one time so you can avoid the    transaction costs.
  •          Another advise: you can exchange currency from a currency exchange         office in Cairo.
  •          You can also exchange currency from Ramy.
  • For casually commuting in cairo, you do not need to keep in mind any reservations or considerations for what you should wear.
  • For the wedding, the dress code is black-tie/formal
